About James Simpson

Vice President - Department of Defense & Contracts, Major General (R) Simpson has more than 33 years of experience as an acquisition professional and strategic leader. Previously, Gen. Simpson served as a Deputy Assistant Secretary for Acquisitions (DASA) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). A native of South Carolina, Gen. Simpson graduated from Lander University. During his time at Lander, Gen. Simpson became an ROTC-distinguished military graduate, completing his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Additionally, his advanced degrees are: Master’s in Public Administration from Central Michigan University, Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from Industrial College of the Armed Forces, National Defense University, Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also holds a Certificate in Management from the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia, and a Master\'s Certificate in Government Contract Management from George Washington University. A proven leader of people, with a track record of realizing successful transformation and leading high-performing teams, Gen. Simpson’s talents and expertise will broaden Longevity’s footprint in the DoD space.
