Reporting directly to the R&D manager, the role involves being one of the SME for the ICP-TOF range of instruments. Core responsibilities include: System Development & Improvement - Innovate and refine ICP-TOF instrumentation with an emphasis on performance and lean manufacturing.Subject Matter Expertise - Act as a SME, especially in ion optics and TOF-MS. Use simulation tools like SIMION and COMSOL for modelling instrumentation design.Documentation & Validation - create detailed design specs, SOPs, manuals, and build documents.Develop and execute verification and validation plans.Software & Firmware Collaboration - work with Applications Scientists and customers to support software/firmware development. Develop internal software tools for the test and installation of instruments.Technical Support - assist test, installation, and service teams with troubleshooting.Project Management - Coordinate with cross-functional teams (design, electronics, purchasing). Deliver within time and budget constraints.Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
