As Head of the Mining Desk, I help mining companies with their guarantee/bond challenges. Specifically in the areas of mine rehabilitation/reclamation guarantees and take-or-pay guarantees.After careful research, I reach out to and build relationships with treasury/finance executives of mining companies with assets where I know that I, and the surety team at Howden, can devise a solution for the challenges they are facing with their guarantees.Then, after in-depth research into the mining company and their assets and using my \'at the coal face\' operational experience, I summarise both the technical and credit aspects of the company which I then clearly articulate to the sureties (underwriters) about the journey that the company has been on and their plans for the future.Leveraging the diverse experience in our surety team and the long established relationships that we enjoy with our surety partners, we package guarantee solutions of wide ranging complexity and facilitate the establishment of superior surety facilities for our mining clients.
