About James Romano
I hold a J.D. from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law I also hold a B.A. in International Law & Institutions and a B.A. in East Asian Language & Culture from the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies as well as minors in History and Spanish. I am from Columbia City, Indiana. Currently I am a full-time Research Associate at The Ostrom Workshop Space Governance Lab where I focus on the emerging field of space law and policy as well as its relation to cybersecurity and the commercializing space industry. I formerly worked as a Senior Research Assistant and Research Assistant at the Space Governance Lab. I have participated in internships with the U.S. House of Representatives, U.S. Air Force JAG Corps, and Marval O’Farrell Mairal, a large law firm in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In addition to my professional experiences, I am a member of the Association of Commercial Space Professionals and was the president and founder of the Space Law Society at the Maurer School of Law. I am a 2023 Stewart Global Internship Program Fellow, 2023 Rumsfeld Graduate Fellow, the 2024 Maccabee Task Force Fellow. I also continued my research related to space law and policy as a 20••••25 Ostrom Fellow.
