About James Riley

I am a physical security professional with over 20 years in the security/law enforcement profession. As senior member of the AWS Physical Security Department, I provide physical security design, guidance, expertise, product management, business continuity and risk/crisis management in the protection of Data Centers (DC’s) and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP). I managed all physical security operations for two regions in the great state of Texas. I managed the Texas Gulf Coast region as well as the West Texas region where I worked with local first responders for emergency critical events. I also protected critical electrical substations by utilizing security through environmental design ensuring the protection of our electrical power systems from theft, destruction or attack. In recent years I have maintained physical security of two large data centers while they were operational and under construction simultaneously. The measures put in place helped my customers/stakeholders while maintaining a strong physical security presence and protecting vital information. Currently, I am building a new zone from the ground up including two data centers that I will manage physical security operations for upon the project completion.
