ABOUT JAMES PERKINS

In the early years of my career I was dedicated to my academic profession, Professor of Chemistry and doing research in molecular spectroscopy. Later I was drawn into academic administration, as a department head, division chair, followed by founding dean, for 15 years-all at Jackson State University, Jackson Mississippi. I took a hiatus from academics and worked in the private sector, for the next 15 years. For 5 years I worked in senior management, senior vice president, of a technology transfer corporation, with a mission of transferring scientific and technology IP from universities to commercialization. For the next 10 years I pursued my entrepreneurial interest, created my own IP (a multimedia technology product) and built and boot strapped my own company, CSY, Inc. to a viable small business, selling my products nationwide and internationally. For the next 12 years I returned to academics as a research administrator and was successful in getting funding for numerous projects that I served as PI. Presently, I have come out of retirement to pursue my fascination with the innovation space and the exciting technologies that are transforming our lives. I am working with the President of SportsID, Ryan McNeil (a retired NFL player, gifted in his grasp of technology, the innovation space and finance) on the development of products that will help to transform the sports ecosystem.
