In this role, I managed numerous projects with various Canadian federal government departments. Some of the projects are described below.I provided Project Management / System Management expertise, services and advice, for the selection acquisition, installation and configuration of Saba Learning Management Systems (LMS). The projects provided on-line and classroom course hosting, cataloging, learning planning and tracking. The project included providing the functionality for employee self-registration to courses, personal learning plans and provision of courses via an e-learning platform. This also included employee certification and licensing records, as well as the set-up of Learner and Administrator Help Desk functions. I also managed the migration of both courses and learner records from legacy systems to Saba.I was responsible for Business Case and Project Charter for the consolidation of various Help Desks into a single Enterprise Control Desk (ECD); the development of a framework for the integration of software license management; and a costing model for the consolidation of SSC Service Desks.I managed development of four contract consolidation initiatives valued at roughly $400 million. This included consultations with line-managers responsible for multi-year contracts in 43 departments, and the vendors to gather government-wide contract. As project manager, created tasks/activities, work breakdown structure (WBS), and development project schedules; analyzed business processes and develop project plans. Reporting on project schedules and costs using various techniques including earned value; and generate performance data, such as cost, schedule, technical and quality progress; reporting to management.Projects included writing Business Cases, advising SSC senior management as to best option for Canada, contribution to development of Treasury Board Submissions, and presentations and briefings for Departmental Senior Management.
