In his role, he managed relationships in the agricultural community and had oversight of sales and service of agricultural and construction equipment.Previously, Munroe served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Marine Corps for nearly 23 years. During his tenure as a Marine, he led organizations as large as 300 Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers, managed Marine Program portfolios as large as $2.9 Billion, held a Top Secret Clearance and briefed the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff on several occasions…an adventurous life that saw 43 countries, 3 years at sea, 3 combat tours, and a Bronze Star in Iraq.Prior to becoming a Marine, Jim was born in Alexandria Bay, New York and subsequently raised on a farm in Canandaigua, NY. His passion for farming and his strong love of the North Country brought him back to the area upon retiring from the Marine Corps in 2012. Jim believes farming is “a passion… a calling” and that agribusiness has an obligation to serve those who feed America.Jim holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and a Master of Science in Information Technology Management (with Distinction) from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA. He is currently the President of the Board of the AGR-Zeta Alumni Corporation in Ithaca, NY, and also serves the local community as President of a local Kiwanis Chapter.Jim and his wife Rosana reside on the historic May Irwin Farm on the St. Lawrence River in Clayton, NY and have 4 daughters and 3 grandchildren.
