I am currently working as the Director of Public Health at Tameside Council. This includes being a Chief Officer within the council and being responsible for a range of statutory and mandated functions and services. I am the lead advisor to senior officers, partners and elected members on all matters relating to the health & wellbeing of the population. As part of this role I sit on the Senior Leadership Team of the council and am accountable directly to the Chief Executive and Executive Members of the Council\'s Cabinet.

ABOUT JAMES MALLION
I am currently working as a Consultant in Public Health at Tameside council. I commenced this post in May 2019 following successful completion of the Public Health Training Scheme. During training I worked as a Public Health Registrar in a number of different areas and organisations including Manchester City Council, Bolton and Oldham Councils, Public Health England in the NW Health Protection Team, and NHS England in the Greater Manchester Screening & Immunisations Team. As part of my training I also passed the membership exams for the Faculty of Public Health. In previous roles I worked in Environmental Services on areas such as fuel poverty and sustainability, at Tameside council where I now work. I also have some experience working in Human Resources. I have a Bsc (hons) in Georgraphy from Lancaster university, a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Liverpool, am a member of the Faculty of Public Health and am on the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR).
