Continuing in this role part time while I complete my degree at STFX.Roles and Responsibilities:Marketing:• Plan and coordinate corporate events, including the annual Investor Tour.• Support and attend Resident Member summer events and sponsorship initiatives.• Create engaging social media content aligned with regional initiatives.• Contribute copywriting and editing support to communications team.• Provide administrative assistance to marketing team.Government Relations:• Conduct environmental scans to identify opportunities, threats, and strategic insights.• Gather, evaluate, and disseminate critical information to stakeholders.• Develop a comprehensive government contact directory.• Summarize and track government housing programs, such as the Affordable Housing Fund.Research & Analysis:• Establish and execute strategic goals independently, prioritizing effectively.• Monitor, analyze, and interpret government policies, programs, and legislative changes, advising implications for the REIT.• Draft concise briefing notes, presentations, and reports.• Track affordable housing KPIs using CMHC data, benchmarking against five REITs.• Maintain database for affordable housing figures and insights.• Engage officials through evidence-based communications, including letters.• Research global affordable housing, rent control, and taxation policies from cities in Canada, the U.S, Australia, and Europe.Issues Management:• Proactively address urgent issues, coordinating solutions with internal/external stakeholders.• Ensure timely follow-up and resolution of pressing concerns.Relationship Management:• Build and nurture strategic relationships with government, industry, and community organizations.• Facilitate opportunities for official engagement through events, site visits, and discussions.• Represent organization at government events and initiatives.• Collaborate with community housing providers to develop and submit funding applications.
