ABOUT JAMES LITTLEHALES
I started my career behind a mixing desk. For over a decade I worked as an audio engineer and live events technician; touring, problem-solving in real time, and learning how technology when used well can enhance the end user experience. Ever since, I\'ve had a natural affinity with technology, hardware or software and a drive to find ways to use it to accelerate and improve outcomes. When I moved into education, first as a tutor and lecturer at Confetti Institute and then as an Instructional Designer at Nottingham Trent University, I discovered I was genuinely passionate about how people learn. Not just what they\'re taught, but how the experience is designed, how engagement is built, and how you know it\'s actually working. That curiosity took me into EdTech. And EdTech took me somewhere I never expected.Three years ago I joined PebblePad with no formal Customer Success experience. Today I lead their CS function. That journey from zero to Head in three years is the thing I\'m most proud of professionally, not because of the title, but because of what it took to get there; driving the transformation of the CS function, earning trust with institutions across different markets and cultures, and figuring out how to turn platform adoption from an aspiration into a habit. My background gives me something that\'s hard to manufacture. I\'ve been the practitioner, the designer, the implementer, and the leader. I understand what it feels like to sit on the other side of the table when a new platform lands in your institution. That empathy shapes how I build teams, how I keep the customer at the centre, and how I work with product to make sure the right things get built. I\'m always interested in conversations with people working at the intersection of technology, learning, and human outcome, whether that\'s swapping ideas, sharing experience, or just connecting with others who care about the same things.
