Over the past 25+ years, I’ve been fortunate to work across both the trades and executive leadership, gaining insights that have shaped my approach to business. Starting in the electrical trade, I built my career through hands-on experience and a deep respect for the hard work and dedication of those in the field. This foundation has been invaluable as I transitioned into executive roles, allowing me to stay connected to operational realities while focusing on business strategy and growth.I’ve had the privilege of leading the start-up of two successful contracting business units, as well as guiding the turnaround of two multi-trade contractors. These accomplishments are a testament to the talented people I’ve worked with and the collaborative relationships we built along the way.One of my most exciting roles was leading a 95-year-old family business with over 600 team members, overseeing daily operations, brand development, and, most importantly, the growth of a strong and diverse team. My journey from the field to the boardroom has taught me that real success comes from working together and empowering those around you.Recently, I was privileged to lead a multi-trade mechanical company with a great brand that struggled with profitability. It was incredibly rewarding not only to help turn the company around but also to become part of the investor group that purchased the company. We successfully realized our succession plan, turning the business over to an emerging leadership group.Now, I’m focused on using these experiences to assist other businesses in improving operational effectiveness and fostering high-performance teams.
