ABOUT JAMES KIMBROUGH
In July 2017 I followed an invitation to join the United States Post Office. The only career position open at the time was a Laborer Custodial. That began my journey into opportunities that I could only have imagined. My goal was to return and teach at the National Center for Employee Development as a career postal employee but when the opportunity presented itself and I applied, I was denied. So, I continued to take advantage of opportunities in the maintenance department at the Oklahoma City P & DC. I was able to experience what it was like to be a Maintenance Mechanic and an MM-MPE (Mail Processing Equipment Mechanic). I really enjoyed those position because it allowed me to be exposed to all the different equipment associated with mail processing. I also pursued another opportunity as a supervisor. I took a position as a temporary supervisor in the fall of 2018 and was promoted into that position in May 2019. In January 2020 I was offered an opportunity to step in as a temporary Manager of Maintenance Operations and to my surprise, was offered the position in May 2020! Opportunities will present themselves if you can be flexible and teachable. Bloom where you’re planted and follow the favor!I bring a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a desire to try new things. I like solving problems others have failed to solve. Most of all, I enjoy helping others succeed.
