   James was promoted to Vice President of Procurement Operations in March 2017 and leads a global function including Procurement Operations, PR-to-PO processing, Operations Support, System & Tools, PMO, Global Initiatives, Contracts Management, Process Improvement & Simplification, Transformation Change Management and Analytics & Reporting. James joined Visa in 2006 when he was hired as the Procurement Director responsible for implementing the procurement function at Visa International Latin America and Caribbean Region. He managed all sourcing activities for the region and was promoted to Global Sourcing Senior Director in 2010 when he took on additional sourcing responsibilities managing Professional Services, Facilities, Products, Client and Corporate Services categories for the U.S. and Canada. In 2016 he was also given the responsibility to manage the U.S. Shared Services procurement team. He managed team members in Brazil, Mexico, California, Washington, Texas and Florida. He has over twenty years of Sourcing experience including two years at Knight Ridder, Inc. as a Sourcing Manager and six years at BankUnited Financial Corporation as Vice President, Purchasing Manager. Previously, James worked in the export field for a couple of companies where he was the Purchasing and Export Manager.
