As the programme manager activities include: • Managing a regional team to deliver technical and business case energy and climate advice to local government, communities and businesses, including managing grant funding programmes and reporting to central government. • Promoting UK net zero strategy through workshops and events, including developing a comprehensive archive of UK energy and climate policy and industry reports. • Briefings for senior managers and leaders, including managing a programme of regional events in support of COP26 in 2021. • Technical advice on housing retrofit, including designing and implementing a multi-million pound local authority delivered housing retrofit grant programme across the North West. • Industrial decarbonisation, including project management an industrial consortium to win innovate UK funding to develop a cluster plan for the North West. • Working with central government and suppliers in the energy sector, networking with grid operators and innovation organisations. • Overseeing programmes to support the decarbonisation of public buildings, rural community energy and undertaking pathfinding research to inform national policy.
