ABOUT JAMIE DORAN
I draw on more than twenty-five years of experience across scientific research, innovation and entrepreneurship, education, and institutional strategy. I have led multidisciplinary teams to design, launch, and scale innovation centres and research programs across Ontario, and have helped build some of the province’s most effective business support and applied research initiatives.My work now focuses on helping organizations navigate complex transformation challenges, particularly the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and extended reality (XR). I specialize in translating rapidly evolving technologies into practical, institution-wide capability, aligning strategy, governance, and implementation so that adoption is both effective and sustainable.I am particularly interested in how organizations move from fragmented experimentation to coordinated systems. This includes assessing where AI creates real value, designing governance and risk frameworks, and supporting leaders in making informed decisions about technology adoption, infrastructure, and long-term positioning. I bring hands-on experience across multimodal AI systems (text, image, audio, and video), and apply this knowledge to real-world use cases in research, education, and creative environments.I continue to support organizations in securing and deploying funding as part of broader strategy. I have helped institutions and partners secure more than $100M in competitive funding, with a strong track record of aligning ambitious ideas with practical, fundable plans. Beyond funding, I work closely with leadership teams to build internal capacity and develop strategies that lead to sustained impact.I stay closely connected to emerging trends in technology, research, and innovation, so my clients can focus on execution. I am motivated by complex, cross-functional challenges where success depends on aligning people, systems, and ideas toward a shared outcome.I also enjoy working with not-for-profit organizations whose missions align with my values, including work in B-Corp development, Black entrepreneurship, equity, diversity and inclusion, sustainability, and education.
