Reports to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of Health and Wellbeing in the Division of Student AffairsManages all areas of University Recreation fiscally, this includes competitive sports, facilities, fitness, outdoor recreation and special eventsReservation manager for the URec Recreation Center, the competitive sports fields, and “The Pit” basketball courtsDevelop, promote, and implement a comprehensive university recreation plan annually to engage students and staff to better development them as people, students, and colleagues Hire, train, supervise, and certify approximately 80 student staff and 3 professional staff: including an Assistant Director of Outdoor Recreation and Fitness Programs, Assistant Director of Competitive Sports, and Coordinator of Fitness programsCollaborate with student affairs partners, campus partners and community partners to provide diverse offerings to the campus wide communityEstablishes and implements strategic goals and objectives that support student engagement, recreational service and community engagement. Ensures staff use best practices for the development and delivery of programs and services. Provides professional development opportunities for West Center staff and oversees training and development for student employees. Coordinates with Facilities Management regarding special events, custodial needs and facility maintenance issues.Inspects the facility regularly and initiates work orders and schedules special maintenance needs.Develops and implements the budget for University Recreation, including all student staffing, maintenance contracts and day-to-day operational costs.Develops and coordinates capital improvement projects and permanent equipment purchases, installations and repairs.Maintains equipment depreciation and replacement schedules.Serves as a lead liaison for campus and community partners in establishing revenue-generating opportunities.
