ABOUT JAMES H. HUYNH
A Supply Chain and Logistics Leader proven to perform and continuously transform. 18+ years in various global/regional supply chain roles and industries.A little bit about myself, I started my supply chain journey while in college. I was given the opportunity to work for an overseas company purchasing and exporting used industrial manufacturing machinery that was refurbished and sold to developing countries. As I developed my logistics skills, the urge to move products more efficiently drove me to obtain my US Customs Brokers license to give me a better understanding of the laws and processes of importing and exporting. With my license and logistics knowledge, I was able to help bring freight forwarder/broker functionalities in-house creating a more efficient and cost effective process. It also gave me the opportunity to work on strategic projects related to transportation optimization, contract negotiations with carriers, duty drawback programs, in-house customs clearing processes and trade compliance initiatives that were presented to the C-Suite millions of dollars in cost savings. As my thirst for efficiency and knowledge grew I began setting my sights on upstream supply chain processes. In my efforts to further educate myself, I obtained my CSCP certification through ASCM (Apics). With my certification I was able to further expand my career working and managing in production, fulfilment and planning (supply, demand, business) at a tactical and strategic level. Due to my experience and ability to see the E2E supply chain, I lead and participated in several process improvement and system implementation initiatives. I have also been fortunate to be able to experience unique situations such as going through a merger acquisition and digital transformation initiatives. Due to these experiences and working with different stakeholders at all levels, I sought out to further improve my overall business acumen. I accomplished this by obtaining my Executive MBA with the goal of continued self-improvement and bringing value/impact to my career.
