ABOUT JAMES H.
James is a Chartered Planner and Manager with over twenty years experience in the private and public sector. He is currently Strategic Planning Lead (Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects) working for Somerset Council based in Taunton, Somerset.Responsible for leading and managing the strategic planning and delivery of Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) and other major infrastructure projects within Somerset, as a member of the Directorates Senior Leadership Team.He has experience of advising on planning consent procedures and has managed the submission of planning application material (as both an officer and agent) for a diverse range of development projects (including nuclear, water, defence, commercial/industrial, railways, civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure, mixed use schemes and renewable energy). Whilst with Arup and Mott MacDonald, he was seconded into a number of Local Planning Authorities, water companies, and the Environment Agency to provide specialist Development Management support for major infrastructure projects. James was also the first agent to submit applications entirely digitally to a number of Local Authorities in the South West (over 20 years ago now!🤔).
