Currently the Operations Manager for all silicon development labs in Oregon for Microsoft.I\'ve worked in & managed many types of labs, including; robotics, optical, electrical (power electronics & high speed signal validation), thermal, mechanical, quality assurance (incoming & outgoing), materials test (using an Instron & MTS), and reliability (including life test).As an individual contributor, I\'ve performed a wide array of functions in my career, including; First Article Inspection (FAI) & Incoming Quality Audits (IQA); Failure Analysis (FA) via x-section, dye & pry, and x-ray; wrote and deployed test software to 3rd parties (like OEMs); performed Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA); designed fixtures to support test and manufacturing environments; Acoustic and RF testing; calibration of mechanical & electrical test equipment; wrote Best Known Methods (BKMs) and User Guides for internal & external customers; worked with optics & silicon wafers in a clean room environment; hand wound stators for motors; designed & built a small wind tunnel; and build labs from the ground up.I\'ve worked on a wide array of products, both consumer and industrial. This includes; home robots, GPUs/CPUs, cooling systems (including fans, heat-sinks, and liquid) for computers, data video projectors, electric cars, renewable energy storage & conversion systems, fighter aircraft controls, augmented reality systems, industrial high voltage systems, printers, servers, and LiDAR.Combining my wide range of experience and training, along with my schooling, has given me a very unique skill set.     Responsible for the design and bring up of all Microsoft labs at the new Hillsboro campus. This includes silicon manufacturing and validation labs, network and server labs, as well as storage areas. Responsible for sourcing and purchasing test equipment and infrastructure hardware. Responsible for maintaining receiving and asset databases of equipment. Responsible for inventory management. Work with construction teams to ensure the labs are built to both Microsoft and Government specifications (i.e for safety). Work with IT, electrical, and HVAC contractors to ensure all requirements (power, cooling, and network) of the lab were met. Co-managing building security access and single managed lab security access. Responsible for all shipping and receiving for the campus. Supporting multiple teams to forecast future lab needs. Managed technicians across the various teams supported by the labs. Produce reports for management on lab status, forecasting, and purchasing. Write procedures for; lab design and bring-up, security best practices and control, purchasing, and inventory management. Interface with suppliers and contractors for equipment installation and setup.
