About James Friday

I am the newest Regional Maintenance Manager for Greystar in Charlotte, NC. I come from a background in maintenance where I started as a groundskeeper/entry level tech. I’ve been in multifamily for 11 years in which I have worked on a variety of projects and properties. I was the District Maintenance Manager for 112 properties stretching from Greensboro to Winston Salem to Charlotte. During this time I won Greystar’s 2019 Integrity Award and the GCAA’s Volunteer of the Year award.I took a hiatus away from maintenance where I was a Construction Services Manager for Greystar. I oversaw capital improvement projects for our South Carolina portfolio which stretched from Savannah to Asheville to Myrtle Beach. I am involved with the GCAA and I am on their Education Advisory Council. I completed their “Train to Train” program where I improved my public speaking skills. Using that, I became a proctor for EPA 608 certifications. I have created from scratch a Supervisor 101 class to not only train new supervisors, but to also train up aspiring technicians and help them grow in the company and their career. I also was the Director of Maintenance and Construction for QC Capital Group. I worked this on a part time status. When purchasing a property I worked as a GC to gather bids, planned upgrades, spoke with investors, and saw through the execution of the plan.
