About James Flener

I’m a senior studying Business and Management at the University of Southern Indiana and will be graduating in May. I am also currently a manager at upright construction. I have experience in residential construction, customer relations, and team leadership through both field and management roles. I enjoy working in fast-paced environments where organization, communication, and problem solving are important. I’m looking forward to applying my experience and education to new opportunities where I can continue to grow professionally and make a positive impact.

   At Upright Construction, I served as the Customer Experience Manager, where I was responsible for overseeing client communication and ensuring homeowners had a positive experience throughout the repair process. I worked closely with customers from the initial consultation through project completion, making sure they understood the scope of work and felt confident in the services being provided.My role involved coordinating with project managers and field crews to keep projects organized and running smoothly while maintaining clear communication with homeowners. I addressed customer questions or concerns, helped manage scheduling and expectations, and ensured each project met the company’s quality standards. This position required strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills while balancing multiple projects and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.In addition to working with customers, I help coordinate projects with our crews to make sure jobs are completed efficiently and to company standards. This includes organizing materials, scheduling work, and making sure the correct repairs are performed on site. I also document project details and maintain reports that outline the work being completed. My position requires strong problem solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to explain technical construction information in a way that clients can easily understand. Through this role, I have gained extensive experience in residential construction, structural repair methods, and customer relationship management.
