WORK HISTORY
Chief Technology Officer @Impact Recycling
A broad-based role spanning R&D, Project conception through to delivery, Operations, Sales, Business Strategy & Finance.Impact Recycling was set up to commercialise our BOSS technology. BOSS technology can sort polymers with a narrow density difference using only water. We use BOSS technologies to extract manufacturing ready polymers, from incineration & export bound waste plastic streams. We target “the pile that is left behind” after easy to recycle components have been removed. In this way we do not compete for supply with existing recycling infrastructure, but instead add new capacity. Typically, for every kg that we recycle, 4510kg of CO2eq emissions are prevented. This is through a combination of direct emission savings (incineration – 2.6t) and indirect by displacing virgin in our customers products (1.7t). We are mining “unrecyclable” mixed waste, and turning the output into FMCGs such as sealant cartridges, bottles & boxes as well as customer facing products such as storage trunks, baskets & watering cans. BOSS technology was originally developed for rigid plastics, we have since developed & operate a suite of technologies for flexible post-consumer films, fibres & sterilised medical waste streams – all these feedstocks were previously incinerated.
