About James Fink
My ultimate goal is to further understand the brain and use this knowledge to develop important treatments for patients. As a neuroscientist with 10+ years of experience, I\'ve spent my professional career studying neuronal biology and synaptic function and developing expertise in electrophysiology, stem cell disease modeling, and neurodevelopmental and epilepsy-associated disorders.My mission has continued in biotech working on early drug discovery and assay development. Since completing my Ph.D. in 2018, I\'ve been leading projects at Quiver Bioscience to bring forward genetic therapies for neurodevelopmental/epilepsy-associated disorders. Currently, I\'m Director, Epilepsy Therapeutic Lead. Our team is using cutting-edge imaging technologies and human neuronal models to study brain disorders and develop life-changing therapeutics for patients.I\'ve had the privilege of working on cutting-edge research into several neurodevelopmental disorders, including Dup15q syndrome, Angelman syndrome (UBE3A), Rett syndrome (MeCP2), Fragile X syndrome (FMR1), DEE4 (STXBP1), SYNGAP1-associated disorders, and Phelan-McDermid syndrome (SHANK3). I\'m also a member of the editorial board for the Frontiers in Synaptic Neuroscience Journal, where I get to contribute to the important work of sharing new insights and discoveries in this field, and I serve on the Scientific Advisory Board for the Dup15q Alliance.
