James Evans BA (HONS) Dip M Arch RIBA CEPH is a Chartered Architect with more than 18 years post qualification experience. He has worked in the industry for more than 24 years and has extensive experience in numerous sectors. With some impressive projects under his belt, James specialises in residential, masterplanning, commercial design and net zero carbon initiatives.With a keen interest in sustainable design, James became a Certified Passive House Designer in 2014, and has a number of certified schemes to his name. More recently, James has been the driving force behind Feilden+Mawson\'s decarbonisation strategy as well as assisting councils in the region, strategising their routes to net zero. This offering, coupled with F+M\'s ability to assume the Retrofit Coordinator Role under PAS2035, facilitates energy efficient driven architecture for the future.James is a strong designer and well-rounded architect and can work with a client to develop a brief and turn it into an exciting yet cost effective reality. Key projects to date include:King\'s Road, Chelmsford: A brand new community of 27 contemporary dwellings for CHP. Utilising an exciting colour-changing cladding system and designed around the \'woonerf\' concept (translating as home zone) which originates from Holland; this exemplar project rejuvenates the local area to provide a new community in the heart of Chelmsford. A complementary sun dial completes the scheme. Completed early 2014, this £2.5M project was procured as a D+B project.Yare House, Norwich: Award winning major office refurbishment for a private client, including \'RIBA Spirit of Ingenuity\' Award. This BREEAM Excellent project has a striking modern design which enhanced the client\'s brief whilst respecting the sensitivity of the adjoining conservation area. Completed in November 2010, James was project architect from inception to completion on this £3.2M traditional contract.Jarrold The Store, Norwich: Award winning contemporary yet sympathetic extension / refurbishment to a grade II* listed 17 century building in the heart of Norwich for local independent retailer Jarrold. Acted as job runner from inception to completion on this £1.7M traditionally procured contract. Completed in 2004.
