About James Estill
Since I instructed my first Outward Bound course in North Carolina at age 19, I have been involved in education, adventure education and schools for thirty-nine years. I have taught upper elementary, middle school and upper school. I have served eighteen years as a Middle School Director and twelve years as a Head of School. I have helped manage two school mergers and have now added Interim Head of School to my list of experiences. I was meant to work with people (young and old) and to prosper the institutions that nurture those students and their families. If I were to win the lottery I would spend my time teaching 8th grade History and climbing mountains. I have helped manage two school mergers and have successfully guided The Colby School as an Interim Head of School. and served as Interim Lower School Director at Villa Academy in Seattle, WA.
