   The Chapter Director, implements policies and programs adopted by the Chapter Executive Committee. Manages the staff, budget and operations of the operational areas: conservation program, fundraising, volunteer development and member services, budgeting and financial management, and media relations.1. Assists the Executive Committee, and Chapter Committees to develop the Chapter\'s short and long term strategic, programmatic and financial goals and objectives.2. Assists the Chapter in the development of the annual fund raising goals and objectives.3. Plans, implements and coordinates an effective media strategy and public relations program.4. Maintains a strategic role in helping volunteer leaders recruit and motivate volunteers and enables their role in the effectiveness of the chapter. Provides training and support to enable volunteer leaders to grow other volunteers into leadership roles.5. Assists the Chapter Conservation Chair in the planning, development and implementation of the core conservation campaign strategies. Provides direction and training for the development of issue committee volunteers and leaders.6. Builds strong relationships with other conservation organizations, elected officials, governmental agencies, and the community.7. Maintains a close relationship with the national organization and keeps abreast of developing trends and issues that may have an impact on the Chapter, including National conservation priorities and strategies.8. Manages staff in assigned operational or program areas. Promotes staff development opportunities and provides coaching and mentoring. Ensures Chapter is in compliance with Sierra Club’s employment policies and practices.
