That being said work makes everything possible and I enjoy what I do - so I am very lucky on both fronts! Being a \"big kid\"​ at heart means I am in \"heaven\" everyday on project sites as what can be more fun than watching a 7\'​ mill tear up a parking lot and conveyor it into trucks; then put it back in brand new all the while watching the heavy equipment come and go- it is paradise for a \"kid\" like me! I love it!

1. Senior Estimator

   United Paving Co.

   Jan 2009 — Present · La Mirada and Corona, CA, US

   I Help with Marketing and new client acquisitions, plan takeoffs and estimating, project management. I am now a Senior Estimator helping to train new people, review estimators\' proposals, I work on all types of public and private projects estimating and management. I handle management of all projects bid by myself, about 6-9m per year. I take care of most ADA projects we receive and help design heavy pavement sections for industrial yards and the ports for longevity during maintenance projects.I routinely work for customers in the heavyweight corridor and help implement cement treatment for clay laden areas and those saturated with water. We will cement treat these areas to bridge those locations and design a pavement structure to support the heavy truck and container traffic. We routinely work closely with clients and their soils techs or civil engineers to help develop and implement long term designs for heavyweight projects over poor subgrade in areas like Carson, Compton and Torrance - where the substrate is mostly clay. We do a lot of concrete projects as well often poring yards or more in one night to ensure q quick turnaround while also minimizing the impact to the tenants\' operations. We will design and implement joint spacing and rebar sections to help with phasing while preventing a weakening of the final product from multiple cold joints.
