About James Devlin

I have been in the HVAC industry for 30+ years serving various aspects of the field. I graduated from Gateway Tech in 1992 with an HVAC diploma and started installing and providing service for the residential HVAC market. I started as a pre-apprentice in 1995 and was accepted into the Steamfitters Apprenticeship program in 1997. Earning my Journeyman’s License in 2002, I worked for various companies over the years working on commercial and industrial R-HVAC equipment. I made the decision in 2006 to obtain a business degree and started Point Park University. Attending school on Saturdays for 8 hour sessions while working and caring for my family I graduated in 2009 with a B.S. in Business and majored in Management. During this time, I made the transition from field tech to operations/sales. I was offered an opportunity in 2008 to go back and teach classes at the Steamfitters apprentice school, and I gladly accepted the offer. Shortly after I started teaching I was enrolled in the United Association teachers training college held each year to fine tune my teaching and public speaking abilities. After 7 years, I proudly earned the Instructor of Journeyworkers and Apprentices Certification through the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters with an Associate Degree in Industrial Training. I continued my thirst for education and enrolled in Waynesburg University, graduating with my M.B.A. in 2012. My passion is helping people in the HVAC industry and to continually work towards mastering my ability to consult and provide the very best value to each client, friend and associate30
