WORK HISTORY
Associate Director, Bbu Publications @AstraZeneca
GB
My role is incredibly wide ranging (which I love!) across all Therapy areas (R&I, CVRM & V&I) within BBU Publications.Whilst leading my own set of R&I publications I also work across the team to create efficiency wherever we can find the opportunity. Thus far this has been within contracting, finance planning, team meetings, strategic reviews, team training opportunities and digital (inc GenAI) solutions - while still being able to play around with spreadsheets!

ABOUT JAMES DATHAN
After 20 years of success in education and working in media with the BBC and Channel 4, I moved into a Medical Communications career in 2019. I spent 3 years working at agency level, learning the business and having the pleasure of learning from some amazing colleagues. During my time I led a £3million Oncology account and a £1million anti-infectives account, leading on financial aspects and project management. In 2022 I joined AstraZeneca as an Associate Director in Global Publications with a clear brief for efficiency, innovation and creativity. I still draw on my achievements and success in education today in my role and challenge established practice to innovate and improve outcomes for patients. In 2023 I added a 15month secondment project (PT) within Evidence Communications to my brief with a licence to modernise and simplify the messages we communicate internally and externally.
