ABOUT JAMES COAKLEY

I began my career as an on-site Civil Engineer with Northfield Construction Ltd in December 2017 before moving to M. Lambe Construction in January 2021, continuing as a Site Engineer. In September 2022, I took the step to become self-employed as a Freelance Site Engineer.My role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to develop solutions for both construction challenges and contractual disputes. My day-to-day work includes reading and interpreting construction drawings, as well as utilizing precise instruments to ensure projects run smoothly and accurately. I have self-taught Civil 3D and gained foundational knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit through my HNC course, which have all been invaluable in my work.“There is no such thing as a problem, it is simply a solution opportunity.”I now operate Coakley Construction, a groundworks and civil engineering company serving residential, commercial, and industrial sectors.Alongside my work in construction, I founded Hydrobottle Limited, a sustainable drinkware company.Outside of work, I am a proud member of Notts Golf Club (Hollinwell), maintaining a handicap of 10. I also dedicate time to multiple renovation projects with my partner, including the restoration of our cottage in the village of Heath, Derbyshire. Previously a pub—The George and The Dragon—our home dates back to the late 1600s.
