In short, I’m a good guy.What I do:I solve problems, and I encourage and enable others to fulfill their potential and work collaboratively so that we can all be successful.What I believe:• Projects and People need leadership, and leaders need Values. • Leadership and management are very different. Some people need management, but most need leadership. • We are all most satisfied when we are operating at our potential. • Trust based relationships are essential for any group’s success. • When assembling teams, it’s people, not companies, that perform work and determine success. • It’s best to work with people who strive for Life balance. What I have done:I have been serving as an owner’s representative and project leader for the last 25 or so years, and I have a long list of accomplishments and completed projects of which I am very proud. None, however, are more significant than the restoration of the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center, the Grand Ole Opry House, and the Gaylord campus following the May 2010 flood. I was the project leader and responsible for every aspect of the remediation and restoration project. Working collaboratively with the project team of consultants, contractors, and fellow Gaylord employees, we successfully completed the $200M project in 6 months. The experience and the lessons learned from this amazing accomplishment further solidified my philosophy on project management, collaboration, and leadership.
