ABOUT JAMES BURR
30 years experience specialising the the areas of geotechnical engineering and dam engineering throughout New Zealand, Australia, the South Pacific and South East Asia. In my career have been involved with all manner of work, from small house sites to multi billion dollar projects and in most markets, including roading, rail, water and wastewater, industrial, mining, oil and gas and of course levees and dams. I have led technical teams within projects and was manager of the 65 strong Northern Geotechnical team here at Beca. I tend to mainly review and verify projects these days but I am also supporting our growth in the dams area in Australia.I am a Chartered Professional Engineer in New Zealand and Australia, a Recognised Engineer in NZ (dam safety), a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (Australia), a Registered Engineer in Papua New Guinea and a member of Engineering New Zealand and Engineers Australia. I am also a member of the NZ Geotechnical Society, the NZ Society on Large Dams and the Canadian Geotechnical Society.I also have a life outside work, but you are probably more interested in my work experience (assuming you have read this far!)
