ABOUT JAMES BRASS
Member of a multi-disciplinary team applying my specialism in climate, energy and sustainability. When I started working in the environmental sector I was wary of policy and governance because I thought I\'d be forever talking, and not doing something to make change. But I figured out it\'s hard to make progress without good policies and strategies that bring different actors together - you can\'t do it alone after all. A masters degree in Climate Policy gave me an appetite for social and economic issues, producing my best work examining social justice and political economy of the transition to a low carbon economy. This helped me to understand the wider repercussions of climate change policy and governance. After graduating with a first class degree in Environmental Science in 2009 I went to work in local government tackling sustainable transport, air quality, energy and water efficiency projects - it showed me how to make the case for the environment and how to build relationships with different stakeholders - something that education could never teach me.
