I’m a lead commercial consultant within GTR’s fleet infrastructure team. My role involves providing expert commercial support across all Track and signalling maintenance, critical infrastructure replacement and Hard FM contracts (NEC 4 option A). During my short time with the business, I have set up commercial processes aimed at streamlining procurement & tendering, contract management, change management and help the team to achieve value for money. Also, I do provide high level interface with the GTR’s finance business partners (Finance) for the purposes of ascertaining cash out flow forecasting, cost planning and budgetary control. Annual budget is about £50m circa.• I carry tender evaluation across all GTR.s fleet infrastructure projects.• I lead value for money assessment of all quoted works withing GTR Hard FM contracts.• Commercial lead on all Track (P-Way, Signalling, Point Heating, 3rd Rail and OLE Maintenance) and other rail infrastructure replacement contracts. • I lead the monthly compliance audit to ensure contractors have met KPI’s and apply incentives as stipulated in the various contracts.• I support tender moderation with interdisciplinary teams.• Participate in pre-construction tender activities.• Provide recommendation for selecting and drafting of contract suites for packages/minor works and provide advice on setting the commercial strategy. • I manage commercial matters for several fleet infrastructure contracts and projects with regards to contract set-up, management, pricing, service delivery, scope change and dispute resolution to ensure contract requirements are compliant with standards and co-ordinated to maximise profit delivery.• I provide commercial support the wider project teams, variously comprising Programme Managers; Project Managers; Designers; P6 Planners etc.
