Whilst studying at university in 2019, I began cleaning windows for residential customers to generate some income alongside my studies. A few months went by and the positive reviews continued to flurry in. At this point, I realised that running my company JBCS Kent exterior cleaning was potentially a better option than seeking a graduate job. I remained resilient and finished the degree, which was difficult time for me. Not only was I studying during the pandemic, I was also living from a camper van which I had built so I could use my student loan to invest back into the business. This turned out to be a great way of getting a rather large loan, at a very minimal interest rate spread over a long period of time. I’m my final month at uni, a good friend of mine called to see whether I’d be interested in starting a drainage business with him. 6 weeks later we had started Flush Draiange. My colleague Anton is the head of operations and finance, due to his background of successfully running 2 plumbing companies over the past 6 years. I have been managing the marketing and customer relations side of the business, whilst each of us fill other roles within the business when it’s required. My main aim is to create two sustainable, environmentally friendly service based businesses which can give back to the community which we serve.
