ABOUT JAMES ABDOOL
Having taken a SaaS services business from zero to starting its 4th Year with exceptional confirmed sales, a good customer base and strong pipeline, I can look back and know that learning a new industry and leading a strong team that I\'ve helped build fuels my passion for learning.Having graduated in Marketing and Management Science in 1994 I joined the family business providing in-store music to restaurants in the UK working in marketing, sales and key account management. Within 5 years I became Managing Director growing the business internationally in retail, hospitality and leisure sectors culminating in leading the company through sale in 2007.I then found my home in the Digital Out of Home sector running EnQii, a SaaS based content management software company for EMEA before setting up the International operations for PlayNetwork Inc. I helped shape the sales strategy for MediaZest Plc delivering innovative digital experiences for major retailers and brands, and moved to global design and consultancy Arcadis as the Partner heading up Digital Experience working on innovation, technology and content strategies and delivery, across their client base. I joined Chirp as Chief Commercial Officer to help the team drive their growth globally with one of the most exciting technologies in the IoT world and am then led the setup and growth of the Fortude expansion into EMEA. I am currently leading a boutique consultancy working with companies, boards, owners and CEOs to drive strategic events. In 2013 I retrained as an Executive Coach and spend time coaching key executives in a growing number of companies and roles. I am also a Mental Health First Aider with a keen interest in mental health in the workplace. I have a great balance of work and family life as well as enjoying the rewards of my coaching and charity work. In 2003 I served a 3 year non-executive term with the NHS and charity work today continues as Chair of Crawley Open House helping the homeless and disadvantaged and MenWalkTalk addressing the mental health challenges men face. Formerly a Governor at Copthorne Prep School, I am pleased to help other local and national charities which is how I end up on regular fundraising challenges. An all round networking professional my passion lies in delivering exceptional customer service with a digital pulse.
