ABOUT JAMEMMA THANKAM JAMES

From growing up passionate about financial accuracy to turning that passion into a rewarding career, I’ve always been fascinated by the way financial data drives business decisions. During my degree in BCom (Marian College), I turned that passion into a strong technical foundation in financial accounting, cost accounting, financial management, UK GAAP, and compliance. Today, as an ACCA-qualified accountant, I’m putting that passion into practice. My expertise includes financial analysis, internal controls, and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations — all while employing technical tools like Sage 50, Xero, Tally ERP 9, and Microsoft Excel (with advanced PivotTable, VLOOKUP, and automation). In my most recent roles — first as a Financial Analysis Intern at H-Garb and then as an Accounting & Indirect Tax Intern at Pinnacle — I successfully supported financial audits for 25+ UK government entities, prepared 10+ VAT returns in compliance with regulations, automated routines to save over 10 hours per week, and implemented process improvements that resulted in greater financial accuracy and operational efficiency.
