I used to think that a poverty mindset was the biggest limiting factor keeping people from achieving the prosperity they desire and deserve.Recently, I have come to recognize a far more insidious and powerful limiting force. It is the comfortable mindset. The idea that one has come far enough from their humble beginnings that they can stop and rest here, perhaps forever. It is the little voice that reminds us,\"I don\'t really have to work this hard\". I find myself struggling with this mindset almost constantly. They say the enemy of good is perfect. I say the enemy of full achievement is partial achievement. I think it takes a larger measure of mental effort to overcome comfortable than it does to overcome true poverty. When you are poor, you have nowhere to go but up. You have nothing to lose. When you achieve some measure of prosperity, you do have something to lose. Or do you? What if the fear of loss we have is imaginary? What can we truly lose? We will never lose the skills and talents and abilities that got us this far the first time around. If we fully shed our doubts and concerns to go for the highest levels of success that we are capable of, what is the worst that can happen? Will we fall back into poverty? No, of course not. We are not those people anymore.Imagine if we fully applied the mindset that pulled us out of poverty and then added to it our current set of skills and abilities and resources? How powerful would that be?Take the fight of the striving and add to it the experience and wisdom of the accomplished. What would that look like? I will find out!
