My career started in an Internet research group, moved to a network operator (MCI/UUNet) and then to a world famous test lab. I have had the privilege to help the Communication Service Provider industry move to a software world from within the leading virtualization software company in the world - VMware.In the last 15 years I had the great fortune of working with most of the vendors in the industry (Alcatel-Lucent, Cisco, Juniper, NSN, Procera, RAD, Huawei, ZTE, the list is too long) as well as with a good number of tier-1 and tier-2 service providers. It has never been boring in networking and I always developed my technical knowledge from IP/MPLS and core routing to mobile core and access, clock synchronization, the various MEF related protocols and concepts. Since 2013 I\'ve been heavily involved with Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) both through working with ETSI and in customer projects.I have been leading technical solutions and engineering teams since 2007 in various proof of concept projects as well as large technical engagements for publications. I\'m comfortable in the lab and in engineering design meetings as well as in front of the customer and in Go-to-market planning sessions.What really excites me is understanding technology and its impact on the end user and then extracting the business value to the network operator. I enjoy analyzing industry dynamics, creating material that makes technology and business accessible, identify opportunities and empowering teams to deliver.
