As the leader and hear artists of the Tchoupitoulas Arts Corridor (TAC) non-profit, I have the privilege of spearheading an organization dedicated to transforming an iconic public space into into a historical narrative of New Orleans history. My journey as a muralist and community leader is deeply rooted in my upbringing in New Orleans, where I found inspiration in the city\'s rich heritage and diverse landscapes.At TAC, our mission goes beyond creating visually stunning murals. We are committed to preserving and celebrating the cultural identity of New Orleans through our artwork. This involves extensive historical research, both oral and archival, to ensure that our mural designs are not only aesthetically pleasing but also historically accurate. Every brushstroke tells a story, weaving together the narratives of the past and present.As the leader of TAC, I oversee all aspects of our projects, from conception to completion. This includes budgeting, project management, and securing permits to paint on the Tchoupitoulas Floodwall while engaging with community stakeholders. Community engagement is at the heart of our work, and I take pride in organizing fundraising events and community outreach programs to involve residents in the creative process.I lead the TAC Board of Director\'s and Committee\'s, leveraging communication and leadership skills to inspire the team in a shared vision for the organization. Together, we work tirelessly to ensure that TAC remains true to its mission and values, while also adapting to the evolving needs of our community.This mural empowers marginalized voices, challenges stereotypes, and promotes cultural understanding. As we continue to expand our reach and impact, I am grateful for the opportunity to lead TAC and contribute to the cultural vibrancy of New Orleans. Together, we are creating a legacy of art, community, and social change.
