ABOUT JAMAL WILLIS
I graduated from Oglethorpe University with a Bachelor of Science in Computational Physics, a field that combines mathematical modeling, numerical methods, and data analysis to study physical phenomena. I am passionate about applying scientific knowledge to solve complex problems and enhance performance.Since January 2022, I have been the head coach of the Georgia Tech Running Wreck Club Team, where I plan and implement workouts for the athletes. With my data analysis and modeling expertise, I optimize training programs and monitor progress using various metrics and tools. I have coached several individual and team champions in regional and national competitions, such as the 2023 Atlanta Publix Marathon and the 2022 NIRCA Southeast Regional Men\'s Team.In addition to coaching at Georgia Tech, I also serve as a community cross country coach at North Springs High School, where I have been working since January 2018. I foster the growth and development of the runners, instilling discipline, resilience, and teamwork while creating a supportive and motivating environment. I have coached the school record holder in every distance event, as well as multiple state and national champions in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meters.I am committed to empowering athletes to reach their full potential, using my physics and data skills to provide personalized and evidence-based coaching. I am looking for opportunities to contribute my expertise in both physics and coaching to drive success and make a positive impact on individuals and teams.
