ABOUT JAMAL JOHNSON
Jamal Johnson is an attorney, law enforcement professional, and dedicated public servant whose life’s mission is to develop the next generation of leaders. With over seven years of experience in policing, he understands the critical role community-based programs play in public safety and strong community-police bonds. Prior to joining the NYPD, he served in two different capacities at New York City College of Technology, a City University of New York (CUNY) institution, where he worked closely with students, staff, and faculty to enhance the student experience through experiential learning initiatives and leadership programs. He serves as Parliamentarian to the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), New York Chapter. In addition, he serves as Legal Advisor to the NYPD Guardians Association, a fraternal group of the New York City Police Department. He also serves as an Advisory Board Member to the LaGuardia Community College’s Paralegal Program, and At-Large Member of the John Jay College of Criminal Justice’s Alumni Association Board. In addition, he serves as a member of the NYC Bar Association’s National Moot Court Committee, where he participates in the moot court program grading briefs and acting as a moot court judge during competition season. Mr. Johnson earned his law degree from the City University of New York (CUNY) School of Law and his B.S. in legal studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Passionate about servant leadership, he seeks every opportunity to coach and mentor young people and engage with anyone who wants to develop professionally. A serial connector, he makes it his goal to meet new people and finds ways to help them get involved in public service.
