I work as Head of the Research Group ‘Digital News Dynamics’ at the Weizenbaum Institute for the Networked Society in Berlin. My research interests center around the impact of digital and mobile communication on news exposure and political behavior in digital democracies, focusing on generational differences in media use and political socialization. I have a special interest in the development of digital methods in political communication and journalism research as well as the collection and usage of digital trace data for research purposes. Currently, I am a Fellow at the Digital Communication Methods Lab at the University of Amsterdam.
