About Jake Sammon

As a sophomore at UC Santa Barbara, I am pursuing a double major in Political Science and Film & Media Studies, two disciplines that together reflect my dual passion for law and the film industry. I have always enjoyed reading and writing, and these skills have shaped my engagement in both fields.My interest in the legal world began at the Hudson Valley Justice Center in high school, where I worked with disadvantaged communities and developed a commitment to justice and advocacy. At UCSB, I have continued building on this foundation as a dedicated Moot Court competitor and through writing an article for UCSB\'s Undergraduate Law Journal on Anti-Monopolization Claims against Ticketmaster. These experiences have sharpened my analytical thinking and taught me to reason quickly under pressure.At the same time, my deep passion for cinema and the film industry has grown alongside my academic work in Film & Media Studies, where I engage critically with how stories are told, how the industry operates, and how creative and commercial forces intersect. I am drawn to opportunities where these two worlds meet, whether in entertainment law, production, media policy, or the business side of film.I am excited to explore how my background in both law and film can open doors across the entertainment industry and beyond.
