If you think technology is the answer to your problems, then you understand neither technology nor your problems.”I am a proud and pragmatic nerd, with over 15 years\' experience delivering a vast range of technical and operational support functions, accompanying strategic direction, and good management practice. Guided by my personal values of accuracy, integrity, knowledge, and service, these help me define and reflect on my intentions, actions, and development as an authentic, trustworthy, and highly capable leader. This has led to me being recognised for four years in a row as one of the top 100 IT Leaders in the UK according to Computing magazine.I’m proud to have an MBA from Cranfield School of Management, a top 10 UK business school. The course covered a broad range of management topics, and there is more detail on the specific modules further down in my profile.I love identifying, and more importantly solving, a diverse range of business challenges, and I believe I provide confident and inspiring leadership to the teams I work with to help solve these challenges. Actively working on all things IT with in-depth experience in a number of other operational areas, including- IT and technology ranging from end-user tech and engagement, through to high-level enterprise systems, cyber security, hardware, cloud and “as a service” such as SaaS, UCaaS, IaaS, etc, networking, software including development, business continuity (BCDR), and collaboration including audio-visual and teleconferencing systems- transformational change, from requirements and business analysis through to DevOps and the management of complex hybrid tech platforms, engaging with diverse and conflicting stakeholders to ensure the best value from resources and technology investments- facilities and real estate, including delivery of an industry-leading flexible working strategy in response to the post-pandemic world, and numerous office move and refurb projects from scoping and building search, cat B tendering and project management, right through to day two and beyond- risk, compliance, and data protection, where I have been responsible for initial and on-going compliance with GDPR, UK Data Protection Act 2018, and international privacy law, as well as leading in-house legal counsel and maintaining Cyber Essentials Plus certification- working closely with boards, C-suite, and senior directors on a range of other projects such as acquisitions, large-scale tenders, and broader organisational strategy.
