ABOUT JAKE WRIGHT

Senior Geologist with extensive exploration, appraisal, and development experience in South America, both onshore and offshore. Well-versed in drilling operations, regional studies, and analysis of business development opportunities, with extensive professional presentation experience- Guyana-Suriname Offshore Basin, Guyana – Two deep-water exploration wells drilled off the shelf to over vertical depth each, ongoing regional and correlation work including shelf, slope, and distal environments, integration of specialized 3rd-party analysis including basin modeling, geochemistry, special core and fluid analysis, biostratigraphy, geomodelling, and appraisal planning- Llanos Basin, Colombia – Project lead for deep basin exploration and appraisal, extensive drilling in multiple blocks, play types, depositional environments and ages, numerous structural and stratigraphic field discoveries totaling over 200 million net barrels, successful discovery-led land acquisition, led technical presentations of findings to governing bodies and competitors, worked with business development for assessment of opportunities- Magdalena Basin, Colombia – Exploration and development support for several blocks in the Middle and Lower portions of the basin including deep and shallow targets, carbonates, fractured basement, and stacked clastic lithologies, drilled exploration, development, and stratigraphic wells in multiple fields- Tumbes Offshore Basin, Peru – One exploration well drilled on the shelf, generation of portfolio for deep-water and on-shelf offshore exploration program, regional re-entry and workover assessment- Oriente Basin, Ecuador – Part of team responsible for generation of exploration portfolio that has made numerous field and single-well discoveries - Business Development in Other Basins – Assessed opportunities in the Reconcavo and Sergipe Basins in Brazil, Orinoco Basin in Venezuela, Parana Basin in Paraguay, San Jorge Basin in Argentina, and the Putumayo, Llanos, and Magdalena basins in Colombia. Received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with specialization in Geology from the University of Alberta, and Professional Designation through APEGA. Active songwriter and guitar player in several internationally-recognized musical groups, aspiring amateur home chef, enthusiastic traveler, loving husband, and open-minded individual.
