Serve rural healthcare leaders and providers by supporting the North Texas region of 31 hospitals and other rural healthcare facilities Provide hospitals with technical assistance, grants for capital improvements, and other special projects such as farmer/rancher mental health programming, disaster preparedness planning for rural hospitals/clinics, and hospital board education programming Co-coordinate the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program (Flex Program) and provide hospitals with financial and operational technical assistance, quality improvement training opportunities, and an ArcGIS-based data hub that helps hospitals determine their financial stability and competitiveness in their markets Create training opportunities for a variety of hospital leaders across Texas through in-person and virtual mediums on topics such as Medicare appeals/denials processes, billing and coding updates, and understanding chargemaster reviews Assist other departments when able for grant application reviews, project proposal writing, and notetaking during agency committee meetings Served on planning committees for meetings/conferences hosted by the National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH)
