About Jake Smith

I am a senior in the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee and I am striving toward a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Degree with a major in Finance with a concentration in international buisiness. I have always been a charismatic influencer with my supporting qualities being restorative, communication, and positivity. I exhibited these qualities within a group project in a communications class by consistently being the leader of the group through thorough communication and positive criticism. Furthermore, in the workplace, my relationships with managers have thrived through strong communication with a positive attitude towards my tasks. My career goal is to lead others through a Chief Financial Officer position. I am intrigued by how financial qualities lead large companies to making both the short and long term decisions that need to be made for a firm to excel. I desire the excitement of leading a large firm to make correct financial decisions while simultaneously inspiring others to innovate and continue pushing their personal boundaries. I love to see others improve themselves and am strong in facilitating this effect. I have not decided which industry to pursue these goals in. However, I desire to work for a Fortune 500 firm in the long-term. I have resided in Knoxville my entire life, so I am not opposed to traveling for any internship opportunities that assist me in furthering my career goals.
