About Jake R. Rosvold

I focus on patent prosecution, opinions / freedom to operate, patent strategy and counseling. Specifically, I work with clients to help them manage the patent prosecution process, develop strategic patents, and collaborate effectively with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). My passion lies in representing startups, early-stage companies, and academics exploring the commercial potential of their research.Prior to joining Rothwell Figg, I researched Stimulated Brillouin Scattering (SBS) Spectroscopy and Nonlinear Optics during my PhD at the University of Maryland. I collaborated with the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory\'s Distributed Fiber Optic Sensing Group and participated in the National Science Foundation\'s National I-Corps program. I explored the commercial potential of Brillouin microscopy for laser vision correction diagnostics.I hold both a M.S. in Optics and a B.S. in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester\'s Institute of Optics. I\'ve worked at multiple leading industry organizations working closely with R&D and manufacturing operations. I\'m looking forward to passing the Patent Bar exam and attending law school in the near future.
